The CFO will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations, accounting functions, and cash-flow management of Sea shore Group Companies the position requires a hands-on professional who can seamlessly bridge the gap between high-level budgeting and on-the-ground project cost control.
The incumbent will manage the finance team, stabilize project budgets (road construction, infrastructure, etc.), ensure to maintain a proper & standard finance system within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial & Strategic Management
- Cash Flow Stewardship: Monitor and manage the daily cash-flow operations of the company, ensuring adequate liquid funds for active project sites, material procurement, and payroll.
- Budget Forecasting: Collaborate with project managers to develop realistic project-based budgets and corporate financial forecasts.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow) directly to the management.
2. Project Cost Control & Job-Costing
- Variance Analysis: Review actual project expenditures against initial Bill of Quantities (BoQ) allocations to flag cost overruns early.
- Asset & Machinery Utilization:
Monitor the operating costs, depreciation metrics, and fuel consumption analytics of heavy equipment across field sites.
- Retention Tracking: Manage accounts receivable, tracking milestones and contract "Holdbacks" or retention money due from clients.
3. Internal Controls & Fraud Prevention
- Procurement Compliance: Review and authorize high-value purchase orders, checking them against project budgets before funds are released.
- Field Site Audits: Implement strict control protocols for cash, inventory, and fuel handling at remote sites to prevent fraud, theft, or dual-billing.
- Voucher Management: Maintain an organized, transparent accounting ledger ensuring every expenditure is backed by verified physical receipts.
4. Team Leadership & Governance
- Department Oversight: Supervise, mentor, and build the capacity of the internal finance officers and site accountants.
- Banking & Hawala Relations: Manage corporate bank accounts and oversee safe local transfer channels for provincial operations.
- Tech Skills: Highly proficient in QuickBooks Online or similar ERP systems, and advanced mastery of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, financial modeling formulas).
- Sector Knowledge: Good understanding of construction contract billing structures, machinery CapEx/OpEx allocation, and job-costing.
- Integrity & Accountability: Absolute adherence to financial ethics, transparent bookkeeping, and strict corporate governance.
- Communication: Ability to break down complex financial data into simple, actionable points for non-finance project managers.
