Job Descriptions:

Nutrition Provincial Supervisor are reportable to the Regional Project Manager and Nutrition focal point of the organization and following are the main responsibility of the position:

  • Nutrition provincial supervisor under the direct supervision of the Regional Project manager will be responsible for the close coordination of project activities at provincial level.
  • Responsible for planning, implementation, Supervision and Monitoring, data collection, analysis and Reporting of the Nutrition Program in Target HFs Level.
  • Regular supervision of health facility staff (Nutrition Counselor, Nutrition nurses, and screener) to ensure the proper delivery of nutritional services.
  • Regular preparation of feedback and action plans after each supervision/monitoring and sharing with the line manager
  • Prepare monthly activity reports of the supervision and submission them to the Regional Project Manager.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely monthly and Quarterly reports. And analysis of HFs monthly reports and Share feedback with HFs,
  • Meeting regularly with Provincial PNO, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure implementation of community-based nutrition intervention effectiveness and community awareness of nutrition activities.
  • Support health facilities in the integration of nutrition into primary health care services.
  • Organize and conduct training sessions and refresher courses for health workers, including CHWs, and CHS on nutrition-related topics.
  • The Nutrition provincial supervisor provides high-quality technical assistance and support and provide on-the-job coaching and supportive supervision to district and facility-level staff.
  • Ensure that accurate records of food consumption are kept and the HFs are advised of stock balances in a timely manner (to avoid stock-outs).
  • Support the dissemination of behavior change communication (BCC) materials and campaigns at HFs and community level.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness and response planning related to nutrition.
  • Monitor the nutritional status of populations during emergencies and coordinate response activities.
  • Ensuring the appropriate and timely distribution of food to eligible beneficiaries.
  • Conduct at least 20-25 Supervisions from the target HFs at provincial level.
  • Responsible for timely request of relevant items from OPHCD.
  • Any other duties assigned by line manager.
Job Requirements:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, or a related field.

·       Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in nutrition program management.

·       Experience working within the public health system at the provincial or district level

·       Strong knowledge of national and international nutrition guidelines.

·       Proficiency in data analysis, report writing, and program monitoring tools.

·       Good knowledge about nutrition work and health sector

·       Strong reporting and presentation skills

·       Strong leadership and coordination skills.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·       Excellent oral and writing skills in Pashto, Dari and English language

·       Ability to work independently and within a team.

·       Able to travel to districts and communities withing the province

·       Able to provide reports within due deadlines.
