About Afghan Health and Development Services(AHDS):

Afghan Health and Development Services (AHDS) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental, and non-political organization founded by Afghans on April 7th, 1990.  AHDS is an active member of the Afghan NGOs Coordination Bureau (ANCB), the Agency Coordinating Body for Afghan Relief (ACBAR), and the Alliance of Health Organizations (AHO). AHDS is one of the first signatories of the Codes of Conduct for NGOs engaged in humanitarian action, reconstruction, and development in Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Vaccinator to provide immunization services at our Sub Health Center (SHC). The successful candidate will conduct vaccination sessions for children and women according to the national EPI schedule, maintain the vaccine cold chain, and participate in community outreach and awareness campaigns . The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills and a commitment to preventing vaccine-preventable diseases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vaccination Services: Administer vaccines to eligible children and women according to the national immunization schedule during fixed and outreach sessions .
  • Cold Chain Management: Receive vaccines and cold chain commodities from the regional health authorities, ensure proper storage and temperature monitoring, and maintain inventory records .
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate immunization registers, client vaccination cards, and submit timely monthly reports using national EPI reporting formats .
  • Community Engagement: Conduct health education sessions during fieldwork, coordinate with local community elders and Community Health Workers (CHWs), and participate in mass immunization campaigns .
  • Planning & Coordination: Prepare and maintain the immunization micro-plan according to the BHC's fixed and outreach schedules .
Job Requirements:
  • Education: Graduated from 12th grade; higher education in a medical institute (nurse, midwife) is preferred .
  • Experience: At least 1–2 years of experience in a relevant field; training certificate in immunization is required .
  • Skills: Good organizational, planning, and reporting skills; knowledge of EPI guidelines and cold chain management.
  • Languages: Fluency in Pashto and Dari is required; English is an advantage
