Project Background

TCRC Afghanistan has been awarded the contract by the Afghanistan Standard Quality Authority (ASQA) for the establishment and operation of laboratories dedicated to testing construction materials, electrical materials, textiles, and leather products at strategic border locations. The project sites are located within the premises of the Afghanistan Customs Offices.

Job Descriptions:

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled workers to ensure construction works are carried out efficiently and according to the approved work plan.

  • Allocate daily work assignments to labor teams based on project priorities and monitor productivity to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.

  • Monitor the quality of workmanship and ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, and company quality standards.

  • Ensure all workers comply with Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) requirements, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and immediately report any unsafe conditions or incidents.

  • Coordinate the use of construction equipment, machinery, tools, and materials to ensure resources are utilized efficiently and construction activities proceed without unnecessary delays.

  • Prepare and submit daily progress reports to the Site Engineer, including information on completed work, manpower deployment, equipment usage, material requirements, and any issues affecting site operations.

  • Maintain discipline, attendance, and good housekeeping on the construction site, ensuring that all workers follow company policies, site rules, and professional standards of conduct.

  • Assist the Site Engineer and Site Project Manager during site inspections, measurements, quality checks, testing, and project coordination activities.

  • Monitor the proper use and storage of construction materials to minimize waste and prevent damage or loss.

  • Report construction delays, technical issues, equipment breakdowns, and material shortages promptly to the Site Engineer for timely resolution.

  • Coordinate with subcontractors and other site personnel to ensure smooth execution of construction activities and effective communication among all parties.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Site Engineer or Site Project Manager related to the successful implementation of the project.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
