Job Descriptions:

The Agriculture Assistant will support the implementation of climate-resilient agricultural livelihood activities under the El Niño Preparedness Response Project in Ghorband Valley, Parwan. The position will assist in beneficiary targeting, community mobilization, distribution of agricultural inputs, farmer training, and reporting to improve wheat production, strengthen household food security.

 Coordinate with DAIL/MAIL, ANDMA and local authorities, community leaders, and other stakeholders to support effective project implementation.
• Mobilize target communities and facilitate awareness sessions on project activities and beneficiary selection.
• Identify, verify, register, and maintain beneficiary records in line with approved vulnerability criteria and CARE procedures.
• Conduct household, agricultural, and baseline assessments using Kobo Collect or other approved digital tools.
• Support planning, implementation, and documentation of wheat seed, fertilizer, and agricultural input distributions.
• Monitor the utilization of distributed inputs, adoption of improved practices, and household food security outcomes.
• Support post-distribution monitoring and collect data to support MEAL activities and project learning.

Prepare timely field reports, beneficiary records, distribution reports, and activity documentation.
• Coordinate closely with Community Mobilizers, MEAL teams, and local stakeholders to ensure quality implementation.
• Ensure compliance with CARE policies, safeguarding standards, donor requirements, and accountability mechanisms during all response activities.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Extension, Crop Science, Horticulture, or another relevant discipline. 
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience implementing agricultural livelihood, food security, climate resilience, or humanitarian projects. 
• Demonstrated experience supporting wheat production interventions and agricultural input distribution. 
• Experience working with climate-smart agriculture, and community-based agricultural extension is highly desirable

Languages
• Fluency in local languages (Dari and Pashto) is required.
• Basic English skills are an advantage.
