Main duty and Responsibility
Clinical Services
· Provide quality medical consultations and treatment services to patients attending the health facility.
· Diagnose and manage common illnesses and provide treatment according to national protocols and guidelines.
· Provide maternal, newborn, and child healthcare services including management of common childhood illnesses.
· Manage emergency medical cases and stabilize patients before referral when required.
· Identify severe or complicated cases and ensure timely referral to higher-level facilities.
· Provide counselling and health education to patients and caregivers.
Health Facility Management
· Support the day-to-day operation and organization of the health facility.
· Supervise clinical and support staff and promote teamwork and quality improvement.
· Ensure the availability and proper utilization of medicines, equipment, and medical supplies.
· Monitor infection prevention and control practices within the facility.
· Ensure proper medical waste management according to national standards.
HMIS and Reporting
· Maintain accurate patient records, registers, and reporting tools.
· Prepare and submit timely HMIS reports and other required documentation.
· Support disease surveillance and reporting of outbreaks and notifiable diseases.
Community and Coordination
· Coordinate with community health workers, community leaders, and referral facilities to improve access to healthcare services.
· Participate in outreach services, health campaigns, and awareness activities.
· Coordinate with provincial health authorities and partner organizations when required.
Safeguarding and Accountability
· Ensure respect, confidentiality, and dignity for all patients.
· Adhere to Concern’s safeguarding, PSEA, and Code of Conduct policies at all times.
· Report protection, safeguarding, or security concerns through appropriate mechanisms.
· Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager relevant to programme objectives.
Monitoring and Evaluation
· In coordination with the M&E team, develop weekly/monthly monitoring engagement plans.
· To monitor and track implementation progress of the projects as per the approved performance indicators.
· To ensure project progress and monitoring visit reports are shared with the M&E team and Project Manager.
· To support M&E team during field assessments as and when necessary.
Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS):
- The concern is committed to CHS to ensure downward accountability. CHS standards guide Concern activities in all stages both emergency and development projects /programs. In Afghanistan, we also bounded our activities by Accountability framework and therefore any Afghanistan employees is responsible to comply with CHS principles and benchmarks as instructed by its policies and therefore make sure that all accept and implement CHS standards in all our activities.
- To give full support in relation to emergencies/ humanitarian operations when occurring in any area that Concern Afghanistan will respond. This can include but is not limited to participation in the Concern Afghanistan Rapid Deployment Unit (CARDU) and deployment on emergency response teams
