The organization works to advocate for the rights and meaningful inclusion of persons with disabilities in all aspects of society. AOAD promotes equal access to health, education, social services, and community participation, and supports initiatives that strengthen the dignity, empowerment, and well-being of persons with disabilities across Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:

Roles and Responsibilities

· Develop field activities plan in close coordination with project Supervisor.

· Assessing and identification of children, women and girls for psychosocial support in targeted communities

· Schedule and conduct field meetings with CDC heads, Women leaders, Parents and other target beneficiaries

· Keeping a detailed account of the client's mental health history.

· Conduct psychosocial redeveloped training plans in target communities

· Familiarize with existing pathways or where necessary develop a system for referral cases and case management which need further PSS support or other services.

· Provide context related PSS support at the individual, family, and community members.

· Conduct specific psychosocial group activities, adapted and appropriate to group’s specific needs and capacities.

· When needed work in close collaboration with faith leaders and others relevant authorities to create and implement psychosocial activities in the centers and the communities.

· Maintain records, with adherence to data protection policy and confidentiality principles, of clients’ information.

· Uphold ethical principles in all aspects of work, including maintaining and adhering to the recommended treatment protocol, maintain and processing of persona data, confidentiality, and obtaining of consent for any data transfer (on the need to know basis)

· Supporting social mobilizers to conduct awareness sessions to the project beneficiaries

Any other project related task assigned by project supervisor.

Job Requirements:

A. BA degree in psychology related field.

B. Minimum 2-3 years’ work experience, particularly in the field of mental health with INGOs, public hospitals or other prominent organization.

C. Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto, both written and spoken, other local languages will be an asset,

D. Experience in staff management, public outreach/ counseling, community mobilization, coordination with stakeholders.

E. Strong Command on Pashto/Dari

F. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-ethnic team and take on diverse tasks.

G. Working experience in the targeted provinces and familiar with concerned community, geography and culture.  

H. Team worker, Analytical and Troubleshooting skills

I. Honest, proactive and well mannered.
