Job Summary
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing quality control activities across the Company's construction projects to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, contractual requirements, applicable standards, and company policies. The role ensures that construction materials, workmanship, inspections, testing, and project deliverables meet established quality requirements while minimizing defects, rework, and project risks. Working closely with project teams, contractors, consultants, and clients, the Quality Control Manager promotes a culture of quality, supports continuous improvement, and contributes to the successful and timely delivery of construction projects.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
§ Develop, implement, and maintain project quality control plans, inspection and test plans, quality procedures, checklists, and related quality management systems.
§ Ensure all construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, method statements, applicable standards, and quality requirements.
§ Monitor and inspect construction works, materials, equipment, and workmanship at all stages of project execution to ensure compliance with approved quality standards and project requirements.
§ Review and verify material submittals, technical data sheets, test certificates, shop drawings, and other quality-related documentation prior to approval and site implementation.
§ Coordinate and supervise field inspections, laboratory testing, material testing, and quality verification activities to ensure compliance with project specifications.
§ Monitor the quality performance of contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and project teams, and address any quality-related deficiencies or non-conformities.
§ Prepare, issue, and monitor Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective Action Reports (CARs), and Preventive Action Reports (PARs), ensuring timely resolution and closure.
§ Investigate quality issues and non-conformities, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
§ Maintain accurate and complete quality records, including inspection reports, test results, approvals, certifications, and other project quality documentation.
§ Prepare and submit periodic quality reports, performance metrics, and quality status updates for management and project stakeholders.
§ Coordinate inspections, testing activities, approvals, and acceptance procedures with clients, consultants, regulatory authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.
§ Monitor compliance with applicable building codes, engineering standards, regulatory requirements, environmental requirements, and company policies.
§ Review project drawings, contracts, specifications, and scope of work to identify quality risks and establish appropriate quality control measures.
§ Participate in project planning and coordination meetings to ensure quality requirements are effectively integrated into project execution.
§ Conduct internal quality audits and support external audits, inspections, and assessments, ensuring timely closure of observations and audit findings.
§ Monitor project quality performance indicators and recommend continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and overall project performance.
§ Support testing, commissioning, project completion, handover, and close-out activities by ensuring all quality requirements and documentation are completed and approved.
§ Identify training needs, Lead, supervise, mentor, and evaluate Site Engineers, Inspectors, Laboratory Technicians, and other quality personnel assigned to projects.
§ Exercise authority to stop work, reject materials or workmanship, and recommend corrective actions when quality requirements are not met.
§ Ensure proper document control, retention, and accessibility of all quality-related records in accordance with company and project requirements.
§ Perform any other duties assigned by senior management or line supervisor.
