The Skills Training and Rehabilitation Society (STARS) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to humanitarian and development efforts in Afghanistan. It was founded in 1997 by a group of dedicated individuals to serve the country. STARS operates independently and apolitically, with a firm commitment to serving the most vulnerable populations, particularly women and children. Since its establishment, STARS has been steadfast in its mission to contribute to Afghanistan's development in partnership and collaboration with the global community.
STARS is focused on empowering and uplifting marginalized communities, with a particular emphasis on women and children. Through a diverse array of initiatives spanning livelihood development, agriculture, livestock management, education, child protection, healthcare, vocational training, income generation, and sustainable development, STARS strives to address the multifaceted challenges facing Afghan society.
Operating across multiple provinces, STARS engages in holistic efforts to enhance the well-being and resilience of communities. This includes the construction of shelters to provide safe havens for vulnerable women and children, ensuring their protection and security.
STARS is leveraging its expertise and partnerships and endeavors to foster positive change and sustainable development, ultimately contributing to the long-term prosperity and stability of Afghanistan.

Skills Training and Rehabilitation Society (STARS) is committed to preventing sexual exploitation and abuse and promoting a safe and respectful working environment. STARS has a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual exploitation and abuse, sexual harassment, and any form of misconduct. All staff members are expected to adhere to STARS’ Code of Conduct and PSEA policies. The successful candidate will be required to sign and comply with these policies and participate in mandatory PSEA training. Any form of sexual exploitation, abuse, or harassment is strictly prohibited.
