Job Descriptions:

Job Summary :
The Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care, nutrition support, and pharmacy assistance to patients, including maternal, newborn, and child health services. The Nurse works under the supervision of the Medical Doctor and in collaboration with midwives, MHPSS counselors, CHWs, and other staff to ensure quality, accountability, and adherence to BPHS standards, nutrition protocols, and child protection principles.

Main responsibilities:

  • Triage patients and provide basic first aid services.

  • Manage emergency conditions, including shock management, open vein, and controlling bleeding.

  • Provide wound care and dressing according to clinical standards.

  • Identify fractures, including suspected neck and spinal cord injuries, and ensure proper stabilization and immobilization.

  • Collaborate with physicians in medication distribution and patient management.

  • Assess the psychosocial status of affected individuals.

  • Provide individual and group psychosocial counseling.

  • Refer complicated cases to doctors or higher-level facilities and ensure proper follow-up of referred cases.

  • Deliver basic nursing and Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) services.

  • Conduct nutrition screening and provide appropriate support interventions.

  • Provide health and nutrition education to patients and communities.

  • Ensure adherence to BPHS standards in all clinical activities.

  • Maintain accurate record keeping and timely reporting.

  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports.

Job Requirements:

Education :

Must hold a degree or diploma in Nursing from a recognized and accredited nursing institute.

Experience / Skills :

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in nursing in NGOs or BPHS, preferably in a remote area.

  • Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care effectively.

  • Strong clinical competence, including safe medication administration and performance of nursing procedures.

  • Skilled in patient assessment and monitoring of clinical conditions.

  • Ability to follow clinical standards, protocols, and confidentiality requirements.

  • Strong communication skills, ensuring effective interaction with patients, healthcare teams.

  • Knowledge and practice of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures to ensure safety and hygiene.

  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

  • Competence in documentation and reporting, maintaining accurate and timely patient records.

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in dynamic and changing environments.

  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritize workload

Languages:

Strong and effective oral and written communication skills in local languages.
