Job Descriptions:

 A physician overseeing a drug rehabilitation program in Afghanistan is responsible for providing clinical leadership in the treatment of substance use disorders within a resource-constrained and culturally complex environment. The role includes patient assessment, medical detoxification management, development of individualized treatment plans, and supervision of local healthcare staff. The doctor ensures adherence to evidence-based practices while adapting care to local norms, coordinates with community stakeholders, and supports long-term recovery through education, relapse prevention, and integration with social support systems.

Job Requirements:

Conduct morning clinical rounds, assessing new admissions and monitoring patients undergoing detoxification and recovery. 
Evaluate and update individualized treatment plans, including medication management and withdrawal protocols. 
Supervise and mentor local medical and counseling staff, ensuring quality and consistency of care. 
Respond to acute medical issues, including complications related to withdrawal or co-occurring conditions. 
Lead or participate in case review meetings with counselors and support staff to track patient progress and adjust interventions. 
Coordinate with community partners and family members, when appropriate, to support reintegration and relapse prevention. 
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with program standards and reporting requirements. 
Provide regular briefings and performance updates to the Faizabad Program Director, highlighting clinical outcomes, challenges, and resource needs. 
Support staff training initiatives and contribute to the development of culturally appropriate treatment approaches. 
Oversee medication inventory and safe prescribing practices within a limited-resource setting.
