Afghanistan Relief and Sustainable Development Organization (ARSDO) is a national, non-profit development organization established in 2017 and registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan (Registration No. 4190). ARSDO has a strong grassroots presence and extensive experience in designing and implementing community-based development and humanitarian interventions across Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:

To provide life-saving surgical and emergency medical services to patients at Kamdish District Hospital, ensuring quality care under challenging and resource-limited conditions.

Job Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical & Surgical Duties

Perform emergency and elective surgical procedures (e.g., laparotomy, appendectomy, trauma surgery, wound management).
Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
Conduct daily ward rounds and follow up on admitted patients.
Respond to emergency cases, including mass casualty situations.
Stabilize critical patients and decide on referrals when necessary.

2. Emergency & Trauma Care

Lead the management of trauma and surgical emergencies.
Provide on-call coverage as per duty roster (including nights/weekends).
Ensure timely decision-making in life-threatening situations.

4. Infection Prevention & Quality Assurance

Ensure sterilization and infection prevention protocols are strictly followed.
Monitor surgical outcomes and complications.
Participate in morbidity and mortality reviews.

5. Coordination & Reporting

Work closely with hospital management and other departments.
Maintain accurate patient records and surgical logs.
Prepare regular reports as required by management and donors.

Required Qualifications & Experience

MD (Doctor of Medicine) with specialization in General Surgery.
Valid medical license/registration.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant surgical experience.
Experience in remote or emergency settings is highly preferred.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions

Based in a remote and hard-to-reach district.
Security and environmental challenges may exist.
Extended working hours and emergency calls expected.
