Job Description – Finance Manager

Position Overview

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate accounting, effective financial planning, and compliance with regulatory and internal policies. This role supports the business operations of 2-wheelers, tractors, spare parts import, distribution, and sales. The Finance Manager ensures proper financial controls, timely reporting, and maintains all records in QuickBooks for transparency and audit readiness.

2. Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee the company’s financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements using QuickBooks.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights for business decisions.
  • Present financial reports to senior management and support strategic planning.

Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Manage day-to-day accounting entries, reconciliations, and documentation in QuickBooks.
  • Ensure accurate posting of sales, purchases, expenses, payroll, and inventory transactions.
  • Conduct reconciliation of bank accounts, vendor ledgers, and customer accounts.
  • Maintain updated records for assets, depreciation, receivables, and payables.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Prepare annual budgets in coordination with all departments.
  • Monitor budget variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist management in financial forecasting, costing, and profitability analysis.

Import, Taxation & Compliance

  • Manage all financial aspects related to imports, including LC payments, supplier invoices, duty/tax payments, and logistics costs.
  • Ensure compliance with local taxation laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with auditors for internal and external audits and ensure timely completion.

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Work closely with the inventory team to validate stock levels and costs.
  • Track inventory valuation, slow-moving items, and spare parts profit margins.
  • Implement cost control measures across purchases, operations, and logistics.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Monitor company cash flow and ensure availability of funds for operations.
  • Ensure timely payments to suppliers, staff salaries, and statutory obligations.
  • Manage receivables and ensure timely collection from dealers and customers.

Financial Systems & Process Improvement

  • Maintain and improve financial systems and controls within QuickBooks.
  • Develop SOPs for finance operations, expense management, and approval workflows.
  • Provide training to staff on proper financial documentation and compliance.

Coordination & Support

  • Coordinate with Sales, Logistics, Service, and HR departments for financial matters.
  • Support management in business planning, investment decisions, and pricing strategies.

3. Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of finance experience, ideally in automotive/2-wheeler/tractor/trading companies.
  • Strong practical experience with QuickBooks is mandatory.
  • Experience in import finance and taxation will be an advantage.
