About ANRCC:

Afghanistan National Re-Construction Coordination (ANRCC) is professionally managed committed Afghan, non-governmental, non-political and non-profit development-oriented organization. It was established in 1994 to meet the dire needs of vulnerable Afghan refugees and internally displaced families at the time of civil war and factional fighting followed by Soviet Union’s invasion of the country and troops withdrawal in early 1990’s. Earlier it was registered with UN Coordination Body for Afghanistan in Pakistan. Presently ANRCC is registered with Ministry of Economy under registration number 117.

ANRCC head office is located in Kabul city whereas for successful outreach and effective implementation of projects in targeted areas, it has regional office in Kandahar with provincial offices in Ghazni, Zabul, Uruzgan, Helmand, Farah, Nimroz, Parwan, Nanagerhar and Paktia.  ANRCC has skilled experienced, qualified professional staff who have capacity and competence involved to all the desired activities that promotes the goal and objective of the organization. Moreover, ANRCC's staffs are all well versed with local areas, their cultures and social norms with strong trust among the community including tribal elders, Shuras, civil society and government authorities. It is worth mentioning that our management, facilitators and project staff are specialized in different aspects of project designing & implementation for the community development. ANRCC's staffs have strong local knowledge of community development in Afghanistan and are familiar with key players both in donors and government. We try our best to provide value to our beneficiaries and solutions to their pressing needs. ANRCC is an experienced organization, able to react promptly and successfully to any project, regardless of its size or complexity.

Job Descriptions:

1. The project aims to enhance food security, income generation, and climate resilience through orchard establishment and agroforestry practices. The Orchard Expert will provide technical leadership in orchard design, species selection, planting, and capacity building of local stakeholders, with a focus on sustainability and gender inclusion.

2. Objective: 
To design and implement climate-resilient orchard models suitable for local agro-ecological zones.

To build capacity of field staff, farmers, and female beneficiaries in orchard management
To ensure technical quality and sustainability of orchard interventions.

3. Scope of Work
The Orchard Expert will be responsible for:
Technical Design and Implementation
Conduct site assessments and recommend suitable fruit tree species.

Conduct Beneficiary Profile Survey (BPS), by ensure door-to-door survey using Kobocollect tools 
Develop orchard layout plans, spacing, irrigation, and soil preparation guidelines.
Oversee procurement and quality control of saplings and inputs.
Provide technical supervision during planting and maintenance phases.
Capacity Building and Training to beneficiaries 
Develop training materials and conduct sessions for farmers, mobilizers, and female social organizers.
Promote integrated pest management, pruning, grafting, and post-harvest handling techniques.
Mentor field teams on orchard monitoring and data collection.
Gender and Inclusion:
Ensure orchard models are accessible and manageable for women beneficiaries.
Collaborate with female social organizers to adapt training and orchard designs to local norms.
Monitoring and Reporting:
Develop orchard monitoring tools and contribute to progress reports.
Document lessons learned and best practices for scale-up.
4. Deliverables
Orchard design plans and species recommendations for target districts that are already specified 
Training sessions conducted and materials developed.
Monthly technical progress reports.
Final report summarizing achievements, challenges, and recommendations.

Job Requirements:

Degree in Horticulture, Agroforestry, Orchard management or related field.
Minimum 4 years of experience in orchard development, preferably in conflict-affected or remote areas.
Proven experience in training and community engagement.

Familiarity with Kobocollect tools and donor requirement
Familiarity with gender-sensitive programming and local cultural dynamics.
Strong communication and reporting skills in local Languages Dari, Pashtu & English
