Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Pharmacy, Public Health, supply chain management, medical logistics, or closely related field. OR a first-level university degree combined with a minimum of three(3) years of progressively responsible professional experience in essential medicines and health commodity management or closely related fields, particularly in humanitarian or development contexts.
Knowledge and Experience:
- A minimum of one year experience in managing humanitarian supply chain operations and health-related commodity data management.
- Proven experience in working with electronic logistics management information systems, data management tools, and dashboards.
- Proficiency in data management is essential; possession of relevant certifications in data systems, analytics, or supply chain information systems would be considered a strong asset.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating and networking with key development partners, donors, and stakeholders in humanitarian or public health supply chain contexts.
- Knowledge and understanding of UN/UNFPA humanitarian/development programming and operations and about UN common programming principles including human rights-based approach, gender equality and capacity development.
- Experience working within the UN system is a distinct advantage.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated experience in working successfully as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to self-manage, emotional intelligence, empathy, team spirit, conflict management as well as negotiating skills.
- Practical experience in facilitating training and capacity building for staff and implementing partners, preferably in the areas of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), data management and supply chain management.
Language requirements:
- Fluency in Oral and Written English is required.
- Fluency in Oral and Written Dari/Pasthu is advantaged.
Inputs/services to be provided by UNFPA or implementing partner (e.g. support services, office space, equipment), if applicable:
The consultant is expected to provide all necessary equipment to complete the assignment (computer, software, phone, etc).
UNFPA will provide all relevant background information and documentation regarding the regional and country contexts as well as relevant documents on the related position.
