The Quality Control Engineer (QCE) is responsible for overseeing the implementation and continuous monitoring of quality standards across all engineering and construction disciplines, with a primary focus on building construction projects. This role ensures that all project activities comply with approved specifications, technical requirements, client standards, and applicable international codes and regulations.
The QCE conducts regular inspections and testing, manages quality-related documentation, and works closely with project teams to ensure quality is maintained throughout all project phases—from material procurement and submittal approvals to completion of the activity.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections and supervise construction activities for new building projects, including structural, architectural, general (electrical, and mechanical) works.
- Verify that all materials, installations, and workmanship comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, contract requirements, and applicable industry standards.
- Prepare, review, and update project-specific inspection records, test reports, checklists, and other quality control documentation.
- Perform and monitor material testing activities (soil, concrete, steel, MEP materials, etc.) and supervise third-party laboratory testing when required.
- Prepare and review material submittals, work methodologies, and project quality plans to ensure compliance with contract and client requirements.
- Monitor architectural, structural, and MEP works to ensure quality standards are met while maintaining construction progress.
- Coordinate with construction, engineering, and procurement teams to identify, report, and resolve quality issues, including Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Maintain complete and accurate QA/QC records, including inspection logs, test results, calibration certificates, and related documentation.
- Prepare and submit daily and weekly quality reports to the Project Manager and relevant project stakeholders.
- Promote and enforce a strong quality culture among site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure consistent compliance with quality standards.
