Job Descriptions:

The Quality Control Manager (QCM) is responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising all quality control activities for construction projects to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable national and international standards.

 

The QCM will coordinate closely with project management, site engineers, contractors, consultants, and relevant authorities to ensure that all construction works are executed with the highest quality standards and within project timelines.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Control Plan (QCP).
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and contract documents.
  • Supervise and monitor site works to ensure quality standards are met at all stages of construction.
  • Conduct inspections and tests of materials, workmanship, and completed works.
  • Review and approve material submittals, method statements, and inspection test plans (ITPs).
  • Identify non-conformities (NCRs), recommend corrective actions, and follow up on their implementation.
  • Coordinate with consultants, engineers, and third-party laboratories for quality testing and approvals.
  • Prepare and submit quality reports, inspection reports, and documentation to management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards related to quality control.
  • Support project handover, snag lists, and final acceptance procedures.

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

 

 

Experience:

 

  • Minimum 5–8years of relevant experience in construction quality control and Transmission line.
  • Proven experience working on large-scale infrastructure or building projects.
  • Experience with donor-funded or government projects is an advantage.

 

 

Technical Skills:

 

  • Strong knowledge of construction standards, specifications, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Familiarity with international standards (ASTM, ACI, BS, ISO, or equivalent).
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Experience with material testing, inspections, and quality documentation.

 

 

Soft Skills:

 

  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
  • Excellent reporting and documentation abilities.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

 

 

Language Skills:

 

  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of local languages is an asset.

  • Willingness to work on site and travel as required.
  • Strong ethical standards and attention to detail.
