Job Summary:
The Social Worker / Mobilizer will support the implementation of community-based social services and program activities under the Sustainable Goals Organization for Afghanistan (SGOA). The role focuses on community outreach, beneficiary identification, awareness-raising, referrals, and strengthening community participation in project activities.
The Social Worker / Mobilizer will work closely with community members, local leaders, vulnerable households, and project teams to ensure inclusive access to services, promote social well-being, and support protection-sensitive and gender-responsive programming, particularly for children, women, IDPs, returnees, and other vulnerable groups.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Mobilization & Outreach:

Conduct community outreach and mobilization activities to inform communities about project objectives, services, and eligibility criteria.

Identify and register vulnerable individuals and households in coordination with project teams and community structures.

Facilitate community meetings, focus group discussions, and awareness sessions.

Build and maintain positive relationships with community leaders, elders, and local committees.
Social Support & Case Follow-Up:

Provide basic social support to vulnerable individuals and families, including guidance and referrals to available services.

Identify protection concerns and refer cases to relevant protection or social service actors following referral pathways.

Conduct home visits and follow up on cases to ensure access to services and appropriate support.

Maintain confidentiality and apply a do-no-harm approach in all interactions.
Awareness Raising & Behavior Change:

Conduct awareness sessions on key social topics such as child protection, gender equality, education, health, hygiene, and psychosocial well-being.

Support community awareness campaigns and behavior change initiatives in line with project objectives.

Promote participation of women, youth, and marginalized groups in community activities.
Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting:

Collect accurate data on community activities, beneficiaries, and referrals.

Maintain proper records, attendance sheets, and case documentation.

Prepare regular activity reports and share field updates with the supervisor.

Support monitoring visits and assessments as required.
Coordination & Representation:

Coordinate with local authorities, community committees, and partner organizations at the field level.

Participate in coordination meetings and community forums when required.

Support the supervisor in ensuring effective communication between communities and the project team.
