The Child Protection Officer will be responsible for coordinating, supervising, and implementing all child protection activities assigned to CBHDO under this project. The role requires strong technical knowledge, field supervision, community engagement, and coordination with SCI technical teams.
Key Duties:
1. Child Friendly Space (CFS) Establishment & Management
- Oversee establishment and operation of 2 CCC/CFS, ensuring safe, inclusive, gender-sensitive, and child-friendly environments.
- Support CFS facilitators in delivering structured and unstructured activities, psychosocial support, recreational sessions, and learning activities.
- Ensure accurate registration, attendance, and activity documentation at CFS.
2. Case Identification & Referral
- Identify children at risk, unaccompanied and separated children (UASC), and children requiring psychosocial support through CFS activities and community outreach.
- Maintain strong coordination with SCI case management teams for referral and follow-up.
- Ensure confidential and ethical handling of all child protection cases.
3. Awareness Raising & Community Engagement
- Support delivery of 144 community awareness sessions with elders, caregivers, and religious leaders on child protection, positive parenting, and Kafala alternative care.
- Facilitate participation of communities in project activities and strengthen community-based child protection mechanisms.
4. TLS Establishment & Education Support
- Support setup and monitoring of 15 Temporary Learning Spaces (TLS) with functional WASH facilities.
- Ensure inclusive access for girls and children with disabilities.
- Coordinate with SCI Education Officers to ensure learning continuity.
5. Distribution Oversight
- Supervise distribution of:
- 270 winterization kits
- TLM and recreational materials for 1,000 children
- Assistive devices for children with disabilities (based on assessment)
- Ensure distribution transparency, documentation, and safe processes.
6. Hygiene Promotion & EORE Activities
- Supervise delivery of hygiene promotion and EORE sessions for 2,000 children at CFS/TLS.
- Coordinate with SCI technical teams to obtain approved IEC materials.
7. Reporting, Documentation & MEAL
- Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports.
- Ensure attendance sheets, distribution lists, and session documentation are accurate and timely.
- Support SCI and CBHDO MEAL teams in monitoring visits and complaint/feedback mechanisms.
8. Compliance and Safeguarding
- Ensure full compliance with Child Safeguarding, PSEA, and Code of Conduct.
- Report safeguarding concerns immediately following organizational protocols.
