Job Descriptions:

General Responsibilities:

The Security Officer will lead efforts to safeguard OPHA personnel, property, and operations in Laghman HER AF2 Project. This includes conducting risk assessments, coordinating with local authorities, and responding to security incidents. The role is critical to maintaining uninterrupted project implementation in a secure and compliant manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement security plans and protocols for project offices and field sites
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits
  • Monitor local security conditions and provide timely updates to management
  • Train staff on safety procedures, emergency response, and personal security awareness
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and security agencies as needed
  • Ensure secure transportation and movement of staff and assets
  • Respond to security incidents and prepare incident reports
  • Maintain security equipment and ensure readiness of emergency supplies

Support contingency planning and crisis management efforts

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or related field (or equivalent experience) is prefered
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in security operations, preferably with NGOs or international organizations
  • Strong understanding of security protocols, risk management, and emergency response
  • Familiarity with the local security context and ability to build networks with relevant stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to emergencies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic reporting tools
