About HEALTHO:

Health Efficient, Accessible, Long-Lasting and Treatment at Homeland Organization (HEALTHO) is a non-governmental, non-profit and non-political Afghan national organization established and registered with the Ministry of Economy in 2012.

The purpose of HEALTHO is to contribute to the development of Afghan society through providing health and education services, arranging capacity building programs and imparting vocational skills training, ensure food security and emergency relief assistance in times of natural or man-made calamities.

Job Descriptions:

The Trainer is responsible for ensuring quality training through developing training materials, training effective modules, curriculum, conducting training, class management, and reporting.

Job Requirements:
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with local communities and project participants.
  • Deliver engaging and practical training sessions on food processing, including:
  • Basic food preservation techniques (drying, pickling, fermenting, canning, freezing, etc.)
  • Safe handling and storage of raw materials and processed foods
  • Preparation and packaging of processed food products for local markets
  • Introduction to value addition and simple product diversification (e.g., juices, jams, dried fruits, dairy processing).
  • Teach quality control standards, hygiene practices, and food safety regulations.
  • Guide trainees on producing high-quality processed food products that meet local consumption and market demand.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of training tools, raw materials, and equipment.
  • Monitor participant progress and provide constructive feedback for skill improvement.
  • Encourage creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship skills to support income generation.
  • Keep accurate records of student attendance, progress, and training outcomes.
  • Maintain all equipment and ensure the safety and hygiene of the training area.
  • Plan, organize, and manage training sessions and classroom activities.
  • Develop effective training modules, curricula, and lesson plans.
  • Prepare training materials and manuals suitable for participants’ education levels.
  • Organize and distribute training starter kits (in-kind support) for participants.
  • Ensure proper utilization of training materials to increase participant engagement and ensure quality learning.
  • Participate in project and coordination meetings as required.
  • Communicate regularly with the Project Manager to provide updates and support reporting requirements.
  • Develop a sector-specific training report at the end of each training cycle.
  • Establish a safeguarding culture across all levels of the program by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported, and have access to resources regarding safeguarding issues, taking action in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case of any reportable incident, and encourage others to do the same.

Qualification:

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience
  • Fluency in Pashto is a must, with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in the Food Processing and Islamic Literacy
  • Ability to arrange events and provide training
