Job Purpose:
Under the line management of the Project Manager, the EORE worker will form part of the project field team together with the Mental Health and Psychosocial Workers (MHPSSs), Social Workers, and the Physiotherapist (PTs) Worker. The EORE workers will:
- Conducting trainings and EORE sessions for communities, IDPs and returnees, and other vulnerable and affected populations in the targeted districts of Herat province, including at the health static centers.
- Data collection within his/her area of responsibility
- Referral of persons (in liaison with the Social Workers) with specific needs to rehab services, PSS services, or other relevant services, those identified during the EORE sessions.
- The EORE Workers are required to provide his/her line supervisor with regular reports and updates of any work they have done. He/she ensures qualitative and quantitative implementation of EORE activities in their areas in coordination with the technical team.

- The EORE will provide assistance to individuals, families, and groups affected by the conflict upsurge in Herat through mobile team intervention outside of the provincial capital, when needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS DESCRIPTION:
EORE sessions, Sessions, and Coordination
- Keep a close relationship with the communities in working areas to ensure that people are open to the project services.
- Implement and conduct EORE sessions and training in Herat Province directly with mine awareness messages according to EORE with the support of the AVR Technical Officer.
- Support the development and use of tools to conduct sessions on Explosive Ordinance Risk Education to IDP, returnees, and host Communities with the technical guidance and support from the AVR Technical Officer.
- Coordinate the referral of people identified with specific needs, during EORE sessions, with the Social Worker and with the support of the Project Manager in referring to the relevance stakeholders /and or within the HI projects.
Record, Report, develop the tools and planning
- Prepare a monthly Work Plan with the Project Manager and under the supervision of the Area Manager
- Collect Accidents and Victim Reports on a daily basis;
- In line with the project manager, undertake assessment or any other arrangements for expansion of the project activities if required
- Report activities progress carried out in the area of work to the line manager.
- Prepare any other reports as required.
- Keep the line manager informed of any problem, lesson learnt, or development.
- Facilitate any internal and external monitoring and evaluation missions, when required.
- Participate in meetings/workshops if planned by the line manager.
- Write case studies on beneficiaries and activities of the project if and when requested
- Document any protection concerns and report them to your line manager
- Ensure a daily quantitative and qualitative reporting through the tools and system in place
- Participate to the improvement of the activities protocol, tools and guidelines to ensure a comprehensive intervention of quality
- Actively participate to all the project meeting, technical follow-up, internal and external trainings related to your position according to your line manager instructions
KAP Survey
- Conduct a KAP survey on Explosive Ordinance Risk Education among the communities (IDP, Returnees, Host communities) at the beginning and the end of the project with the support of the Project Manager, MEAL Officer and the AVR Technical Officer.
- Ensure a proper collection of data and a proper analysis for the KAP Survey
- Provide inputs and feedbacks to implement the EORE activities accordingly to the needs

Respect hygiene and security rules
- The EORE Worker respects and applies basic hygiene rules;
- He/she maintains equipment clean and secured.
- He/she observes at all times strict commitment to Handicap International Security & Safety regulations as per procedures in place at mission level
- He/she supports information internal dissemination to relevant focal persons at mission level aiming at reinforcing security and safety of Handicap International staff and assets
Demonstrate an ethics and professional practice:
- Show professional ethics, respect and promote Handicap International mandate
- Among others, he/she respects beneficiary’s privacy and confidentiality (he/she only share medical information with medical staff/persons directly involved in beneficiary’s care)
- Respect the Handicap International protection of children policy and protection of beneficiaries from sexual exploitation and abuse policyand report to your line manager any non-respect of HI’s policies amongst the teams or partners.
- Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others.
- Always interact with children with the presence of their parents or caregivers
- Always respect a refusal of service.
- Work with the best of knowledge and abilities to offer a good quality psychosocial support
- Show abilities and competences to execute an efficient rehabilitation intervention.
Note that this job description must remain flexible, to respond to additional tasks or changes as identified by the line manager.

The EORE worker is expected to maintain confidentiality of all beneficiary and internal information at all times. Afghanistan mission takes place in a sensitive environment regarding security of Handicap International staff and assets. Handicap International employee commits to observe utmost respect of personal and professional ethics, to adhere to principles of neutrality and impartiality, and to ensure necessary levels of discretion within and outside working space. Not respecting this clause will lead to disciplinary action and have immediate dismissal as a result.
Any breach of the above-mentioned responsibilities, of the Conditions of Engagement may be sanctioned by a written warning or immediate dismissal if appropriate
