Imal Company Limited recently launched a U.S.-registered e-commerce company focused on promoting and selling high-quality Afghan rugs to the U.S. market. The business is in its early stages, with exciting work ahead to transform it into a fully operational and results-driven online platform.
To help bring this vision to life, I’m seeking a passionate, creative, and visionary individual based in Kabul to join me on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in graphic design and digital content creation, and eager to contribute to both the creative and operational aspects of the business.
This is a part-time, remote opportunity with flexible hours, and importantly, it carries the potential to evolve into a business partnership, depending on mutual interest and the company's growth.
Scope of work:
The Graphic Designer will play a vital role in driving the success and growth of the business by supporting a range of activities, including digital content creation, graphic design, photography, and more. While the primary focus is on visual and digital production, the candidate will also contribute meaningfully to the broader business operations in Kabul through a part-time arrangement.
This is a remote, flexible role, allowing the candidate to work from anywhere, including the comfort of home. However, the position requires occasional travel within Kabul, particularly to the downtown area, for meetings with stakeholders and rug suppliers, as needed.
Coordination and Liaison
- Serve as the primary liaison between the business and rug suppliers, representing the business's interests.
- Participate in regular WhatsApp meetings.
- Maintain ongoing communication and coordination with rug suppliers.
- Consult with the Company before making commitments or agreements with suppliers.
- Conducting ad-hoc market assessment to gather relevant information.
Order Placement and Payment Management
- Communicate order details from U.S.-based customers to relevant rug suppliers.
- Ensure timely fulfilment and shipping of orders within the agreed delivery timeframe.
- Manage payment processing for all orders, maintaining transparency and accuracy.
- Identify and engage 2–3 skilled rug weavers for custom rug production partnerships.
- Provide support and coordination to integrate selected weavers into the business's mid-term supply chain strategy.
Visual Marketing and Content Creation
- Capture high-quality photographs of products for online display and promotional use.
- Create marketing content such as leaflets, short video clips, and graphics for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.
- Manage and update the business’s Instagram and other social media platforms to enhance product visibility and engagement.
