Job Summary:
The Social Cohesion Programme Management Specialist will lead the implementation of project activities aimed at fostering community trust, civic engagement, and peacebuilding. The Specialist will coordinate stakeholder engagement, oversee project staff, ensure adherence to UNDP standards, and report progress and risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of all project activities.
- Lead coordination with Community Development Councils (CDCs), Shuras, Jirgas, women’s groups, and local NGOs.
- Develop work plans and ensure timely and quality delivery of outputs.
- Ensure gender-sensitive, inclusive approaches in all interventions.
- Prepare progress reports, case studies, and documentation for UNDP.
- Ensure compliance with UNDP’s Social and Environmental Safeguards.
- Coordinate with local authorities, tribal leaders, and de facto officials to maintain operational access and community acceptance.
- Identify capacity-building needs of local partners and facilitate relevant trainings.
- Represent the project in inter-agency coordination meetings and stakeholder forums.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress and resolve implementation challenges.
- Track project risks and lead the development of mitigation strategies.
