About Organization of Human Welfare (OHW):

The Organization of Human Welfare (OHW) is a non-governmental organization. It is a non-political, not-for-profit, and impartial organization with no bias towards a particular religion, ethnicity, or political belief. It has its independent legal status and entity. OHW has operated since 2007 in the country with active membership with the national clusters and international donor agencies in Afghanistan, including SWABAC, ACBAR, AICS, BAAG, AWN, and most of the national and international Clusters operate in Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:

Purpose of the Position:

To support the effective functioning of the Child Protection team by managing front desk duties, responding to queries, ensuring proper documentation and data entry, and maintaining a child-friendly and confidential environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, child development, or a related field is an asset.
  • Background or training in child protection, safeguarding, or humanitarian response.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in dealing with vulnerable children and families.
  • Familiarity with referral systems and local child protection actors is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately via English, Pashto, and Dari.
  • Competency in basic computer applications (Office Program).

 

Job Requirements:
  • The helpdesk staff is responsible and referrals to individuals seeking child protection services.
  • Answer queries via phone, email, or in person in a respectful, empathetic, and confidential manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of queries, complaints, and referrals using appropriate data management tools.
  • Ensure the help desk space is welcoming, accessible, and child-friendly.
  • Collaborate with protection officers to track and follow up on child protection cases.
  • Support administrative tasks such as filing, scheduling, and minute-taking during team meetings.
  • Respect and uphold the confidentiality and dignity of children and families accessing services.
  • Escalate sensitive or complex cases to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Assist in community awareness activities and feedback mechanisms when required.
  • Any other task given by the district supervisor or project Manager.
