CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: the post holders will have direct contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work on field level programs, or have access to personal data about children or young people, as part of their work; therefore, a police check will be mandatory for this post unless the content of the post changes, in which case the Child Safeguarding level should be reviewed.
ROLE PURPOSE:
1. Provide technical support to implementing partners in Herat province
2. Monitor project activities being implemented by partners.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: WASH Coordinator and Education Coordinator
Staff reporting to this post: NOT REQUIRED.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
• Coordination with Provincial Education Department (PED), District Education Department (DED)/ PED Construction and WASH department regarding the SIP.
• Support partners in conducting the SIP needs assessment.
• Support partners in development of BoQ and Project Drawings for SIP projects.
• Train school management shura (SMS) on SIP monitoring.
• Supervise contractors to ensure adherence to design, quality and timelines
• Monitor construction progress, materials, and address deviations promptly.
• Monitor and provide technical support to the work of partner staff at provincial and district level
• Monitor the distribution of Teaching and Learning Material (TLM) kits.
• Review and finalize the teacher’s payroll.
• Provide work plan and quality progress reports to Education Coordinator on bi-weekly and monthly basis.
• Regularly update the Indicator Performance Tracking Table (IPTT)
• Support MEAL team in Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM)
• Programme coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with partners and other key stakeholders.
• Conduct field visits and collect firsthand data from partners about project progress and challenges.
• Ensure safer partnership practices and safeguarding in the field.
• Assist the partner staff with administrative, documentation and other duties as needed.
• Ensure that all data trackers are up to date and make sure the data in the shared drive are up to date.
• Establishing a comprehensive file system to record and keep track of all project activities documents in soft copies.
• Use monitoring checklists for each visit and prepare the bi-weekly and monthly reports.
• Facilitate the ToT sessions with implementing partners at National and Sub-National level.
• Ensure the Education Project Tracking System (EPTS) is up to date.
• Any additional task as per office requirement or by line manager.
