A. GNI-A Background:

Good Neighbors International (GNI) is an international humanitarian and development organization with its headquarters located in Seoul, Republic of Korea. We are a non-profit, non-governmental organization in general consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC). 

B. Program Summary:

As an INGO, since 2002, Good Neighbors International-Afghanistan (GNI-A) has been actively working in Afghanistan as a humanitarian and development aid agency, mainly targeting women and children who are deprived of their basic rights, especially the poor (rights-holders), through programs in several sectors, to enhance their capacities and to achieve major improvements in their lives. GNI-A is registered with the Ministry of Economy (NGO Department) under registration number 38.

GNI-A coordinates emergency relief, medical programs, WASH, educational and training programs, as well as community development projects, which enhance the capacity of individual beneficiaries, participants, employers, and host organizations to meet the opportunities and challenges of a changing Afghanistan.

The Tailoring Skills Development Project seeks to promote economic empowerment by enhancing the vocational skills of vulnerable individuals, particularly women and youth. The project will provide tailored training opportunities to 20 direct beneficiaries, with an anticipated reach of 70 indirect beneficiaries. The initiative will be implemented through the engagement of two private tailoring companies based in Kabul, which will deliver comprehensive, market-oriented training and practical work experience to the selected participants throughout the project’s duration.

Job Descriptions:

Purpose of the Position

The Project Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day implementation of the tailoring project, ensuring activities are delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. The Supervisor will coordinate with tailoring companies, monitor beneficiary progress, and report on project milestones.

Main Responsibilities

  • Project Implementation & Monitoring:
    • Supervise and monitor daily activities at the tailoring companies.
    • Ensure training quality, compliance with standards, and timely delivery of project activities.
    • Identify challenges early and propose corrective actions.
  • Coordination and Communication:
    • Serve as the main point of contact between the organization and the contracted tailoring companies.
    • Facilitate communication with beneficiaries and community stakeholders.
    • Organize meetings, site visits, and feedback sessions with beneficiaries and trainers.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare weekly, monthly, and final progress reports.
    • Maintain accurate project records, including attendance, training progress, and distribution records (if any).
    • Document success stories, lessons learned, and challenges.
  • Beneficiary Support:
    • Ensure beneficiaries are receiving appropriate support, addressing complaints, and resolving issues sensitively.
    • Monitor the attendance and participation of beneficiaries regularly.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Review the quality of products (tailoring outputs) and ensure training aligns with project objectives.
    • Support trainers to maintain a high standard of instruction.
  • Other Duties:
    • Support project assessments, evaluations, and audits as required.
    • Perform other related tasks assigned by GNI-A’s HO supervisor line.
Job Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Social Sciences, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in project supervision, preferably in vocational training, livelihoods, or women's empowerment projects.
  • Strong skills in project planning, coordination, and monitoring.
  • Excellent reporting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with vocational training programs, especially tailoring, is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the local context and ability to work effectively with diverse communities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto; working knowledge of English is an advantage.
