Job Descriptions:

General Position Summary:

  The Nurse will work closely with the IPD&ER Nurse Supervisor. He/she will be responsible for day-to-day management on the patients and providing accurate reporting.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

         General Management responsibilities:

  • To ensure the principles of triage and provide the selection among patients in the waiting room at least 3-4 times to identify patients in life threatening condition and accompany them immediately to the consultations.
  • Identify the patients who come for follow-up of treatment (e.g. injection or dressing) and send them for further orientation to the person responsible for registration.
  • To fill a basic information about the patient
  • To record the basic information about a patient: name, address, age, sex, status - resident/refugee; basic indicators: height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse.
  • To follow the registration book on a daily basis.
  • To register the patients who come for follow-up visits, dressing, injection, etc in the manipulation register book and referred to appropriate rooms.
  • Provide basic manipulations prescribed by the medical doctor
  • Provide health education to patients
  • Work closely in coordination with the medical doctor and Nurses, and other health team
  • Strictly follow universal precautions performing their duties (gloves, clothes, disposal of medical waste, hand washing procedures)
  • Keep the working place clean, orderly and neat
  • Adherence to all organizational policies and procedures as outlined in RIs’ policies and procedure manuals.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining a good working relationship with all RI staff and for attending and participating in regular staff meetings.
  • Conduct him/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to RI and not to jeopardize its humanitarian mission.
  • Any other duties assigned by supervisro.
Job Requirements:
  • Diploma or Certificate in Nursing
  • Minimum three year’s NGO experience, in the capacity Nurse
  • Demonstrates a systematic and efficient approach to work.
  • Works collaboratively with team members to achieve results.
  • Should be a Team player.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good command of English and relevant local language, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to organize & priorities workload independently, using initiative when appropriate.
  • Honesty.
  • Attention to details.
  • Pro-active.
