Job Descriptions:

The PSS Animator for CFS will facilitate psychosocial and recreational activities for children in Child-Friendly Spaces, creating a supportive and engaging environment. The incumbent will play a key role in helping children regain a sense of normalcy, develop coping mechanisms, and strengthen their emotional and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and conduct structured recreational, educational, and psychosocial activities for children.
Facilitate storytelling, arts and crafts, sports, drama, and group discussions to promote well-being.
Provide psychosocial first aid and emotional support to children in distress.
Identify and refer children with severe psychosocial needs to specialized services.
Promote positive behaviors and social interactions among children.
Ensure a safe and inclusive environment within the CFS, following child protection principles.
Engage with parents and caregivers to enhance community support for children’s well-being.
Collaborate with child protection teams to assess needs and adapt activities accordingly.
Maintain records of activities, participation, and child progress while ensuring confidentiality.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in recreational, educational, or psychosocial programs.
Strong understanding of child protection and psychosocial support.
Experience working with displaced children, refugees, or conflict-affected communities is preferred.
Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in challenging environments and adapt to diverse cultural contexts.
Fluency in Dari and Pashto; English proficiency is an asset.
