Scope of Work:

In collaboration with the provincial Nutrition Officer, Project Manager, and the MdM medical Team, the Referral Nurse ensures a quality follow-up of the nutrition patients referred to the Therapeutic Feeding Unit and vice versa from TFU to Health Facilities for follow-up

Duties & Responsibilities:

•   With the regular visit schedule, s/he sees that the referred SAM patients are followed up through visits and regular communication with health care professionals in the TFU.
•   Follow-up treatment and medical care received by SAM patients.
•   Ensures and arranges that patients receive free treatment and food.
•   Ensures and arranges that patients receive transportation from the referral point to TFU.
•   Arranges free take-home medicines and RUTF for the patient according to procedure.
•   Follow up on referred complicated cases to higher-level Health Facilities.
•   Follow up of SAM cases referred back to Health Facilities for further follow-up.

Job Requirements:

•   Registered Nurse or any paramedical diploma with nursing experience in Nutrition.
•   Have good clinical (Nutrition) 3 years experience
•   Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

•   Good knowledge of Farah province and able to travel to any part of the province.
•   Good understanding of humanitarian principles
•   Able to work on their own
•   Fluent in English, Pashtu, and Dari, spoken and written
•   Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer
•   Willingness and ability to work outside the normal working hours on request
