POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Provincial Supervisor (Health, Nutrition)-who will works under the direct provincial Coordinator at regional level, Provincial Supervisor is responsible to implement, supervise and report the progress of the project’s interventions funded by the GAC, and utilize budget with accordance to the donor approved work plan and budget to achieve the target goal of the project and provide required support to the national provincial senior officer for mobilizing of new resources, support the provincial project staff through technical inputs and maintain good coordination and relation with related stakeholders at the provincial level.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• The Provincial Supervisor (Health, Nutrition)- should oversee the overall implementation of the relevant project’s activities in all target district /communities.
• The provincial supervisor is responsible for ensuring effective utilization of resources allocated to health and nutrition related activities/interventions.
• He / she should represent the organization in health and nutrition related meetings and other coordination platforms within and outside the settlement/ districts and provinces.
• To conduct regular field visits to provide technical support required for the team on the time base to avoid mis-implementation in the target activities.
• To conduct assessments to identify the vulnerable HFs to be supported RMNCH medicines and supplies.
• Develop plan for supply of required medicines to HFs identified in the target areas.
• Takes care of administrative duties in the project office and liaises on these with concerned departments.
• Develop and submit the required reports to the related supervisor with close coordination of MIS team.
• To ensure relevant activities are implemented according to approved work plan and allocated resources with consideration of AKF, MOPH and donor strategy and manuals.
• Take active part with health program team and represent the progress versus approved plan and provide justification if the progress is not meeting the approved work plan.
• To develop and implement the training plan for Nutrition, health and Psychosocial related training for targeted staff and communities’ platforms.
• Work with relevant technical staff to adapt and disseminate guidelines, tools and procedures that will support the achievement of quality service.
• Contribute to the development of lessons learned from programs and projects related interventions and apply them to modify existing programs and improve the design of new projects.
• Maintain close coordination with mental health nutrition and other relevant stakeholders at districts and provincial levels.
• Comply with AKF policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
• Keep records of project relevant documents, such as reports, plans, etc.
• To report any challenge miss affecting the implementation including financial problems with line manager and health management.
• To carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way which reflects AKF’s commitment to preserving AKF’s Safeguarding standards for organization, staff, beneficiaries, and stakeholders.
• Comply with AKF policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
• Respect the target communities’ cultures, traditions, and customs.
OCCASIONAL SIGNIFICANT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Contribute to development and deliver presentations in official events.
• To Maintain a good organizational working relationship within the departments and other AKF’A sectors at national and regional offices and AKDN sister agencies.
• Facilitate donor visits, monitoring, evaluations mission and audit, as per the AKF policy, procedures and grant agreements.
DECISION-MAKING & AUTHORITY
• Confirm the yearly plan of operation for the relevant project.
• Conduct performance appraisal of the project officer.
• Provide the feedback to the projects related staff and regular follow up for improvement in the project’s implementation.
