This project, "Promoting Integrated Service Delivery for TB and Other Respiratory Diseases by Addressing Access Barriers at Primary Healthcare Settings with Contextualized Interventions," will be implemented in 17 HFs in 7 districts of Farah and 32 HFs in 17 districts of Badakhshan provinces through Mobile Health Teams (MHT).

Job Descriptions:

Job Summary:

The Medical Doctor (MD) is responsible for the reporting of project patients and mobile health team (MHT) of TB REACH Wave 11 to Project Manager (PM) and Project Provincial Officer (PPO) in the respective province.

With travels to Badakhshan Districts (Argo, Arghanjowa, Baharak, Darwaz-e-Bala, Fayzabad, Jurm, Keran-o-Menjan, Keshm, Kohestan, Raghestan, Shighnan, Shahr-e-Buzorg, Shohada, Wordooj, Yaftal Sofla, Yamgan (Geerwan), Zebak).

Farah Districts (Anaar Darah, Farah, Khak-e-Safid, Laash-o-Jaween, Por Chaman, Posht-e-Road, Sheeb Koh).

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support the MHT in the field
Conduct screening and comprehensive assessment of all patients for presumptive TB and other respiratory diseases and flag patients for chest X-ray testing
Identify the patients for GeneXpert testing and spirometry tests
Refer the confirmed all form TB cases for treatment to the nearest treatment Health Facility (HF)
Refer all patients with serious respiratory diseases to the secondary and tertiary HF
Provide support to PPO and central team (ODSSA) during supervisory visits.
Provide the monthly and quarterly comprehensive reports
Ensure that all the necessary medical equipment, items and documents took in place in vehicle
Any other task assigned by supervisor

Job Requirements:

Education

Bachelor/Master of medical sciences

Experience

At least 3 years of proven experience in health sector

Skills

Demonstrate technical expertise in TB and respiratory diseases
Fluent in local languages Pashto, Dari and English skills in speaking, writing and reading
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Be familiar with the culture of the people in the target province to ensure effective communication and engagement
Excellent leadership skills
