Position Summary
An Senior Electric Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of electrical systems in various industries. This role requires expertise in power distribution, control systems, electrical safety, and compliance with industry standards. The Senior Engineer supervises projects, leads teams, and ensures that electrical systems function efficiently, safely, and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical System Design & Analysis:
- Develop and design electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control circuits.
- Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and fault current studies.
- Ensure compliance with national and international electrical codes and standards.
- Project Management & Execution:
- Lead and oversee electrical engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, civil, and instrumentation engineers.
- Prepare technical drawings, schematics, and documentation.
- Installation & Maintenance:
- Supervise the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues in power plants, industrial facilities, or commercial buildings.
- Implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure all electrical systems meet safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety procedures.
- Provide technical guidance on electrical hazards, grounding, and circuit protection.
- Team Leadership & Training:
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing technical support and guidance.
- Conduct training sessions on new electrical technologies and best practices.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Technical Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Maintain records of electrical systems, maintenance schedules, and compliance audits.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to define project requirements.
