Terre des hommes Lausanne (Tdh) is a Swiss child welfare foundation, providing assistance and protection to vulnerable population worldwide. Tdh has been working in Afghanistan since 1995 and carry out projects related to Child Protection, Mother and Child Health and Livelihood Programs in Kabul, Herat & Nangarhar provinces

Job Descriptions:

Under the direct supervision of Tdh Health Program Coordinator, the incumbent will support the formulation and overall implementation of the Caritas health facility and other health projects upon the request of supervisor. The position will be based in Kabul office with regular visits to project locations in Kabul.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the Health Programme Coordinator in day to day management of Caritas Health facility located in Kabul
  • Ensure timely submission of internal and external reports of health facility in accordance to the Tdh procedures.
  • Conduct regular supportive supervisory visits to health facilities
  • Support the Health Programme Coordinator in ensuring the sound implementation of the project in health facility.
  • Ensure quality services delivery and support MEAL Unit in identifying and collective quality indicators.
  • Ensure medicine and medical supplies are identified, procured, stored and dispatched to project locations in a timely manner.
  • Act as focal point for monitoring of referral system from the community to the health facilities.
  • Provide technical support technical staff of the health project including medical doctors, midwives and nutrition counsellors while visiting the health facilities.
  • To conduct supportive supervisions from health facilities and mobile health teams and provide support to health staff.
  • Write up the report the supportive supervision report and prepare the corrective action plan and do close follow up of the action with health facility staff.
  • Prepare reports, analysis or mapping of the health context per direction of the Health Programme Coordinator.
  • Ensure the delivery of collective health staff time sheets and submit to HR department to ensure timely payment of staff salaries.
  • Responsible for office filing system and documentation.
  • Support with the preparation and organization of trainings, workshops, and other events

 

Child Protection

  • Child Protection: Use observation skills to detect any behavioral changes or specific vulnerability in children that may be reason for concern and share these observations with immediate supervisor and social workers team at joint weekly staff meetings to determine appropriate responses.
  • Ensure that all child protection related activities are in line with child protection minimum relevant standards and enhance program / activities based on CPMS.

 

Safeguarding Policy (Global Code of Conduct)

  • Global Code of Conduct (GCC) Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP), Policy on the Protection from sexual exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), Directive on staff misconduct at workplace and GBV, Operational Risk Management: Undertake to adhere to the Terre des hommes safeguarding policy and the principles connected to children's rights
  • Undertake to ensure the best possible practical implementation of the safeguarding policy (Global Code of conduct) and the management of operational risks in his/her area of intervention and within his/her team.
  • Make sure all volunteers, visitors sign / understand Tdh Global code of conduct at a glance and my commitment to child safeguarding.

 

Safety & Security

  • Conduct field visits with the consent of line manager who check the security of the area prior.
  • Report instantly if you observe any security threat, heard any report any suspicion, rumors about the safety of the staff and its beneficiaries
  • Strictly follow Tdh security policy and regional security plan.
  • Ensure and facilitate prompt sharing of information and action on all events relating to security issues
Job Requirements:
  • Graduated from recognize medical faculty (MD degree holder)
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of current BPHS/EPHS system.
  • 3 years working Experience in implementign BPHS and EPHS projects with national or international organizations in Afghanistan.
  • Must be registered with Afghanistan Medical Counsil (AMC).
  • Fluency in oral and written communication in English, including representation, liaison and negotiation skills in (Pashto and Dari).
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint presentations, and Excel spreadsheets and budgeting).
