Action Against Hunger/Action Contre La Faim (AAH/ACF) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that was created in France in 1979. AAH/ACF has been active in Afghanistan in the medical, nutrition, food security, and water and sanitation fields since 1995.  AAH/ACF improved access to health and nutrition services for the most vulnerable people, who live in remote areas without a local health system. In particular, the country team supported pregnant and breastfeeding women and children under five, who are at greater risk of malnutrition. Nutrition programmes rely on an integrated approach, addressing both primary and underlying causes, in order to have a lasting impact on nutritional status.  The country team worked at community level, in villages and at provincial level, strengthening the public health system. It also worked at national level to ensure reliable information about the nutritional situation reached the wider humanitarian community. Covid-19 prevention was integrated into all interventions and additional response activities were implemented, such as the disinfection of health facilities and public places, cash assistance, psychosocial support and the distribution of hygiene kits to affected populations.

The MHPSS Capacity Building Training aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of recent graduates from Psychology or Counseling departments and female students who in the 8^th semester. The training is part of our ongoing efforts to build a competent workforce capable of delivering high-quality Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS) to those in need.

Objective of the Training: The goal of this training is to equip participants with practical skills and knowledge related to MHPSS interventions. By the end of the training, participants will:

• Gain an understanding of the importance of MHPSS in emergency contexts, including its core principles and the MHPSS intervention pyramid.
• Learn how to apply counseling and psychological support in different contexts.
• Improve their capacity to respond to mental health needs in community engagement and outreach.

Training Structure: The training will be conducted in two separate batches, with 25 participants in each batch. The content will focus on MHPSS-related topics and will include interactive sessions, role-plays, group discussions, and case studies to ensure practical knowledge transfer.

Training Schedule & Logistics:

• The training will be conducted over two batches, each consisting of 25 participants.
• Each batch will be trained over a period of 12 days/ 2 weeks.
• The training will be conducted in three batches within month of Feb and two first week of March 2025.
• Training materials, including handouts and stationery, will be provided to all participants.
• Please note: No per diem or transportation costs will be covered for participants.

4. Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must be recent graduates from a recognized university in the Psychology or Counseling department.
• The female students who are in the 8th semester are eligible to apply.
• A commitment to completing the entire training program is required.
