Job Descriptions:

ROLE PURPOSE: Under the direction of the Head of Programme and in coordination with subordinate staff, the post holder will be responsible for implementing the Mine Clearance Planning Agency’s (MCPA) activities related to child protection. This role ensures the practical delivery of child rights and child protection. Responsibilities include developing child protection messaging, training staff on child protection issues, and overseeing the referral process for children.

 

Job Requirements:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :

  • Ensure the continuance of interactions between the district and provincial CPANs and provide the required support to district CPANs.
  • Conduct trainings for the project staff and build their capacities according to the capacity gaps assessment key findings.
  • Develop Child Protection messages and train Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) teams to deliver CP messages together with RE.
  • Strengthen staff capacity on CPiE, CP mainstreaming, SIR, PFA etc.
  • In coordination with Child Protection Action Network (CPAN) establish and oversee a children referral mechanism in line with project objectives.
  • Complete consultations for the Afghanistan Community Voices and Accountability Platform using AAP WG tools with 60 individuals for the community (15 per quarter).
  • Conduct at least 1 project level Sexual Exploitation and Abuse risk assessment.
  • Provide technical supervision and support of field staff and (relevant partners) staff through regular contact, field visits or meetings.
  • Regular visit to the assigned field to participate and facilitate key meetings and informal meetings as required to meet project objectives.
  • Conduct induction meetings with families, teachers, community, and other stakeholders to ensure an efficient and effect referral system.
  • Any other task assigned by the supervisor.
