Scope and General Purpose of Job: 

Job Summary: 

A Security Officer is holding security and safety responsibly at this level when he is on duty. His work location depends on the departmental roster approved by Chief of Security.  The Security Officer looks after the safety and security of his location of duty e.g., searching at Mian Gate/Emp Gate, patrolling, operating luggage scanner, operating CCTV (if need to) and any other job instructed by his supervisor or line manager.

Main duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet individuals in a polite manner.
• Ensure no unauthorized person(s) gain access into the hotel premises.
• Never leave your post without being relieved and having given a post brief, unless being in immediate danger of injury or death.
• Monitor all the cameras that are on screens at your duty location.
• Operate the panic alarm when there is an imminent danger, sighting of intruders or suspicious persons.
• Check the Returnable and Non-returnable Gate Passes during your duty time, for all hotel property leaving the premises. Report any problem to your supervisor.
• Ensure that the security doors are locked and exit doors closed.
• Will be on time and ensure detailed hand over/take over.
• You are to remain on post until you have been relieved under all conditions or ordered to do so.
• Witness important acts e.g.  fuel truck, cash in transit, guests’ belongings any other important acts if needed.
• Conduct a safety and security check as scheduled on the Year Planner. .
• Stay vigilant for a possible lockdown, play your role in during a lockdown and guide guests and staff to the safe room.
• Play your role in a fire incident, guide guests and staff to the assembly area.
• Ensure the outsourced guard force search all vehicles entering the hotel premises in order to detect any possible dangerous articles, weapon or explosives and unauthorized personnel.
• Ensure a full search all Hotel employees, Contractors and visitors including their bags entering/leaving the Hotel premises in order to detect unlawful removal of hotel property, when you are at the area.
• Maintain a register of all unusual occurrences in the log provided.
• Ensure that the outsourced guard force control vehicular traffic to prevent congestion and accidents.
• Ensure the vehicle and pedestrian gates and doors remain closed when not in use.
• Discourage private taxi operators from soliciting business in outside hotel premises and ensure no Taxis are availed access to the hotel.
• Ensure operating equipment is in working order. (Inform control room to make a work order for urgent engineering attention)
• Maintain a radio watch on the security channel (channel 2).
•  Report any unusual occurrences to your immediate supervisor.
• Carry out any other duties as may be directed from time to time. Ask for guidance from Chief of Security, Assistant Chief of Security, Security Manager, Senior Security Supervisor and security supervisor.

Qualification:

• Minimum 1 years Security services employment.
• 12 Grade or above.
• Relevant experience in security sectors.
• Knowledge of security and reporting system.
• Fluency in languages e.g., English, Dari and Pashto.
• Strong administrative background.
