HPL is building a talent pool for a nationwide telecom network operation and maintenance (O&M) managed-services project. The City Power / Electrical Engineer will manage the maintenance of grid (city power) supplies to telecom sites, from the transformer to the site changeover panel, and handle the related utility (DABS) procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and carry out scheduled maintenance visits to grid-connected sites, and submit visit reports on time.
- Maintain transformers (oil level, bushings, terminations), MV/LV switchgear, fuses, breakers, energy meters and voltage stabilisers.
- Record per-phase voltage, frequency and load, and test ATS changeover between grid, generator and other power sources.
- Handle DABS procedures: new connections and metering, bill verification and analysis, and follow-up of supply faults.
- Compare grid availability with generator and solar running hours, and report the findings.
- Apply lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) and safe isolation procedures for all MV/LV work.
Working conditions
Based in Kabul, travelling daily between sites and to other cities as required. Member of the standby rota for grid-related faults.
