About Afghanistan Relief & Sustainable Development Organization (ARSDO):

Afghanistan Relief and Sustainable Development Organization (ARSDO) is a national, non-profit development organization established in 2017 and registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan (Registration No. 4190). ARSDO has a strong grassroots presence and extensive experience in designing and implementing community-based development and humanitarian interventions across Afghanistan.

ARSDO works through a three-pronged strategy: 1. Community Organization and Inclusion: Strengthening grassroots community institutions with a strong focus on inclusion of vulnerable groups, particularly women and children. 2. Capacity Strengthening: Enhancing the knowledge, skills, and capacities of local communities to actively participate as co-implementers in addressing existing and emerging social, economic, and humanitarian challenges. 3. Advocacy and Policy Engagement: Advocating for improved justice, policy reforms, and the development of laws and strategies to combat social, economic, and rights-based challenges at local, national, and international levels.

ARSDO implements multi-sectoral programs including Education, Health, Economic Empowerment, Humanitarian Response, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and Construction, combining advocacy with quality service delivery.

Job Descriptions:

The Community Mobilizer will be responsible for engaging local communities, facilitating participatory development processes, and strengthening collaboration with community development councils (CDCs) and local stakeholders. The role emphasizes community consultations, awareness campaigns, and participatory planning to ensure inclusive and sustainable development outcomes.

Job Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

    • Facilitate active participation of communities in project planning and implementation.
    • Strengthen collaboration with CDCs and local stakeholders to ensure ownership and sustainability.
    • Organize and conduct community consultations, awareness sessions, and campaigns on key development and social issues.
    • Promote inclusive participation, ensuring involvement of women, youth, and vulnerable groups.
    • Support communities in participatory planning activities to identify priorities and develop action plans.
    • Encourage collective decision‑making and community‑driven initiatives.
    • Provide training and capacity‑building support to community representatives and local structures.
    • Strengthen community leadership and organizational skills.
    • Document community activities and prepare reports for management and donors.
    • Monitor progress of mobilization efforts and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

 

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Sociology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in community engagement, social mobilization, and participatory development programs.
  • Experience working with local communities, CDCs, and local stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to organize community consultations, awareness campaigns, and participatory planning activities.
  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
