Purpose of the Position
The Reproductive Health Officer will be based in Badakhshan’s EPHS project and focus on planning, implementing, supervising, and monitoring reproductive health services, ensuring integration with maternal, newborn, child health (MNCH), gender-based violence (GBV), nutrition, and emergency programs. The officer provides technical guidance, capacity building, and ensures compliance with Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) standards.
Key Responsibilities
OF Reproductive Health Officer in Badakhshan EPHS project
- Planning & Implementation
- Develop annual reproductive health work plans, budgets, and procurement schedules.
- Ensure RH activities are integrated with MNCH, GBV, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, and emergency response programs.
- Technical Guidance
- Provide support to provincial teams and health facilities on RH protocols.
- Conduct training on family planning, antenatal/postnatal care (ANC/PNC), emergency obstetric and newborn care (EmONC), safe delivery, and adolescent reproductive health.
- Capacity Building
- Organize workshops and develop/adapt training materials, guidelines, and job aids for the related staff in Badakhshan Provincial hospital.
- Strengthen skills of midwives, doctors, and community health workers.
- Monitoring & Supervision
- Track RH indicators in provincial hospital, mobile health teams, and outreach programs.
- Conduct supervision visits, prepare reports, and follow up on corrective actions from Badakhshan Provincial hospital.
- Coordination & Reporting
- Represent the organization in RH technical working groups and coordination forums.
- Ensure timely reporting to MoPH HMIS, donors, and internal monitoring systems.
- Safeguarding & Compliance
- Uphold PSEA (Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards.
- Ensure confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical conduct in service delivery.
2. Clinical Services and Quality Assurance
· Ensure uninterrupted 24/7 availability of essential and emergency healthcare services in RMNCH Wards.
· Supervise the implementation of national clinical protocols, guidelines, and standards.
· Monitor and improve the quality of healthcare services provided by the hospital RMNCH wards.
· Ensure the availability and quality of emergency, maternity, surgical, internal medicine, pediatric, and other essential services.
· Lead quality improvement initiatives and monitor key performance indicators.
· Ensure patient safety standards are implemented and maintained throughout the hospital.
· Review and address patient complaints and clinical incidents in a timely manner.
