1. Purpose of the Position
The Quality Control (QC) Officer will be responsible for ensuring that talc purchase and processing operations meet established quality standards and customer specifications. The role involves regular sampling, testing, process monitoring, and implementation of quality control systems to maintain consistent product quality from extraction to final packaging.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Quality Monitoring & Testing
- Conduct regular sampling of talc ore from the suppliers’ mine and processed material from the plant.
- Perform laboratory tests to determine asbestos content, purity, whiteness, particle size, moisture content, and other required parameters.
- Ensure all testing procedures comply with industry standards and customer requirements.
B. Process Control
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Recommend adjustments to processing parameters to maintain quality consistency.
- Work closely with production staff to resolve quality issues promptly.
C. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of quality inspections, test results, and corrective actions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality control reports for management.
- Assist in the preparation of technical data sheets and quality certificates for customers.
D. Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with ISO, ASTM, and other relevant quality standards if available.
- Support internal and external audits of quality control systems.
- Implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality control activities.
E. Training & Continuous Improvement
- Train production staff on quality requirements and testing procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.
- Recommend new testing methods or equipment to improve accuracy and efficiency.
3. Deliverables
- Approved quality control plans and SOPs.
- Daily and monthly QC reports.
- Quality certificates for each production batch.
- Corrective action reports and improvement recommendations.
