Job summary
The Project Manager holds overall responsibility for the delivery of the works from mobilization through to final handover. The role covers programme control, cost control, resourcing, subcontractor management, quality and HSSE oversight.
Project scope relevant to this position
– Provision and installation of a 1250 kVA transformer and the associated cabling to each building.
– Construction of the service / technical room and the generator rooms.
– Fabrication and installation of two (2) underground fuel tanks of 25,000 litres each, with fuel dispensing works.
– Relocation and reactivation of the existing standby generators and connexes.
Duties and responsibilities
– Prepare, maintain and update the master programme and the Gantt chart so that the works are completed within the 300-calendar-day period.
– Own the method statement, the quality management plan, the HSSE plan and the waste management plan, and drive their implementation on site.
– Lead all communication with DABS on the approval, inspection and energization of the 1250 kVA transformer.
– Plan and control labour, plant, materials and subcontractors so that each activity is resourced before it becomes critical.
– Chair the weekly site meeting and issue the weekly report, the monthly progress report and the final completion report.
– Prepare monthly payment applications supported by measured quantities and approved quality records.
– Manage variations, delay events, claims and correspondence with the client in a timely and documented manner.
– Enforce compound access rules, worker registration and the client’s health, safety and environmental requirements.
– Deliver the project handover package: as-built drawings, test records, operation and maintenance material and the three-day O&M training.
Reporting line
Reports to the company management and is the single point of contact with the client’s representative on site.
