Purpose of the Position: The Trainer will deliver practical training and mentoring to women-owned and women-led businesses on business formation, registration, legal compliance, taxation basics, and essential business documentation.
Main Training and Mentoring Areas
· Business registration and formalization requirements.
· Basic legal and compliance obligations for small businesses.
· Taxation basics and practical filing/documentation requirements.
· Preparation and maintenance of simple business records and compliance documents.
· Practical guidance on licenses, forms, templates, and follow-up actions.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop, review, and adapt training materials related to business formation, legal compliance, and taxation.
· Prepare session plans, agendas, exercises, case examples, and practical templates.
· Deliver interactive and practical training sessions to women entrepreneurs.
· Facilitate group discussions, Q&A sessions, and hands-on exercises on compliance and documentation.
· Conduct pre- and post-training assessments, where required.
· Provide follow-up mentoring/coaching to selected participants on business registration, compliance, tax documentation, and record keeping.
· Support participants in applying the training content to their own businesses.
· Document participant progress, key challenges, and success stories, where applicable.
· Coordinate with ACE/PPC Ecosystem project staff on logistics, attendance, documentation, and reporting.
· Prepare brief training and mentoring reports, including observations, participant feedback, challenges, and recommendations.
· Ensure all sessions are respectful, inclusive, culturally appropriate, and gender-sensitive.
Expected Deliverables
· Training agenda and session plan.
· Final/adapted training materials on business formation, compliance, and taxation.
· Practical templates/tools, such as registration checklist, compliance checklist, basic tax record templates, and sample business documents.
· Pre- and post-test tools, where required.
· Participant attendance lists.
· Training completion report.
· Mentoring/coaching session notes and participant progress updates.
· Photos/videos and other training evidence, as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Public Administration, or another relevant field. Master’s degree is preferred.
· Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in business registration, legal compliance, taxation, MSME support, entrepreneurship support, or business mentoring/coaching.
· Proven experience delivering training and/or coaching to women entrepreneurs, MSMEs, private sector actors, or business groups.
· Strong knowledge of business formation, legal documentation, compliance requirements, and taxation basics in Afghanistan.
· Excellent facilitation, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto is required; working knowledge of English is an advantage.
· Ability to travel to target provinces, if required.
· Previous experience with UN agencies, NGOs, consulting firms, or donor-funded projects is an advantage.
