The Afghan Institute of Learning (AIL) is a non-governmental and non-profit national NGO that was founded in 1995 by Dr. Sakena Yacoobi to provide education, training, and health services to vulnerable Afghans.

The Afghan Institute of Learning (AIL) believes in a community-based, tailored, holistic approach that provides access to health care and education.

Currently, across 11 provinces, AIL runs 44 Learning Centers, 6 health hospitals and health clinics, and 14 village-based Community Health Worker posts.

The successful candidate is responsible for creating high-quality visual materials that support the organization's publications, communications, branding, and outreach activities. The selected candidate will produce creative and professional designs for both print and digital media while ensuring consistency with the organization's visual identity and publishing standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and professionally lay out books, magazines, reports, and other print and digital publications.
• Design book covers, magazine covers, and other publishing materials.
• Prepare print-ready files in accordance with professional printing and publishing standards.
• Design banners, posters, brochures, standees, billboards, and other printed and digital promotional materials.
• Collaborate with the Publications Department to enhance the visual quality of the organization's publications.

Minimum of three (3) years of proven experience in graphic design, particularly in book, magazine, report, and publication layout.

• Strong knowledge of typography, page layout, composition, color management, and print production processes.
• Experience in preparing print-ready files according to professional printing standards.
• Ability to design creative and visually appealing materials for both print and digital platforms.
• Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

• A relevant portfolio demonstrating previous design work is required and must be presented during the interview.
