Job Decription:

ADF is seeking a qualified Gender & Advocacy Officer to support the implementation of a UN Women-funded project. The position will be responsible for promoting gender equality, supporting women's participation and leadership initiatives, coordinating advocacy activities, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring gender-responsive approaches are integrated throughout project implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of project activities related to gender equality, women's empowerment, and leadership development.
  • Conduct community awareness sessions, advocacy campaigns, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Coordinate with women-led organizations, civil society groups, community leaders, and relevant institutions.
  • Support the development of advocacy materials, success stories, case studies, and communication products.
  • Ensure gender considerations are integrated into project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Facilitate trainings, workshops, consultations, and community dialogues.
  • Support beneficiary outreach, mobilization, and participation in project activities.
  • Collect, analyze, and report gender-related data and project results.
  • Prepare activity reports, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
  • Support monitoring, accountability, and learning activities.
Job Requirements:

Key Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Law, Human Rights, , or a related field.
  • Master’s degree is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in gender, advocacy, women's empowerment, community development, protection, or humanitarian programming.
  • Experience working with NGOs, UN agencies, or donor-funded projects is preferred.
  • Experience conducting trainings, awareness campaigns, and community engagement activities.
  • Experience working with women's groups and community stakeholders.

Skills and Competencies

  • Good knowledge of gender equality, women's rights, and social inclusion principles.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent report-writing and documentation skills.
  • Strong stakeholder coordination and networking abilities.
  • Ability to organize events, workshops, and community consultations.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Language Requirements

  • Fluency in English and Dari and/or Pashto (written and spoken).
