Key Responsibilities:
General Project Management
- Develop the project's strategic and operational plans.
- Prepare annual, quarterly, and monthly work plans.
Technical Management
- Evaluate all exploration activities completed since the commencement of the project.
- Manage geological, mining, exploration, and engineering teams.
- Supervise the completion of the exploration program.
- Review technical reports and studies.
- Ensure compliance with international mineral exploration standards.
- Organize and manage feasibility studies.
Contract Management
- Prepare project documents, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs), technical proposals, reports, and related documents.
- Evaluate proposals submitted by exploration companies.
- Manage project contracts.
- Supervise contract implementation and compliance.
Procurement Management
- Establish the project's procurement system.
- Recruit procurement personnel.
- Prepare procurement plans.
- Manage the procurement of required equipment and machinery.
- Oversee project logistics.
Human Resources Management
- Review the organizational structures of the Herat and Ghor regional offices.
- Develop a new organizational structure.
- Recruit new project teams.
- Establish a staff performance management and evaluation system.
Financial Management
- Prepare the annual project budget.
- Supervise project expenditures.
- Manage project cash flow.
- Monitor financial contracts and commitments.
- Coordinate with the finance and accounting team.
Stakeholder and Government Relations
- Coordinate with the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum.
- Coordinate with local authorities.
- Liaise with project shareholders.
- Manage official project meetings.
- Submit regular progress reports on project activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
Applicants must possess at least a Master's Degree in one of the following disciplines:
- Mining Engineering
- Geology
- Mineral Exploration
- Mine Economy
Professional Experience
Applicants must possess:
- At least 10 years of managerial experience in large-scale mining projects.
- Proven experience managing mineral exploration projects.
- Experience in managing major contracts.
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar project budgets.
- Experience working with international companies.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
