JOB OVERVIEW
We are looking for a results-driven Google Ads specialist with hands-on experience generating inbound calls and leads for local service businesses. You will own our Google Ads accounts end-to-end — building campaigns, analysing performance data, and continuously optimising to drive the lowest possible cost per call. This is not a set-and-forget role. We need someone who treats our budget like their own and is obsessed with ROI.
The right candidate will be equally comfortable in Google Ads and Google Analytics — spotting patterns in the data, acting on them fast, and reporting clearly on what is working and why.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Own and manage all Google Ads campaigns — search, call-only, display, and Performance Max
Build and optimise pay-per-call campaigns designed to generate direct inbound phone leads at minimal cost
Create tightly targeted ad copy and landing pages tuned for emergency and high-intent breakdown searches
Set up and manage geo-targeted campaigns focused exclusively on our service coverage area
Implement smart bidding strategies (Target CPA, Maximise Conversions) to control and reduce cost per lead
Conduct ongoing keyword research, search term analysis, and aggressive negative keyword management
Analyse campaign data in Google Analytics and Google Ads to uncover trends, identify waste, and find growth opportunities
Run A/B tests on ad copy, extensions, and bidding strategies — and act on results quickly
Collaborate with our team to align ad messaging with service availability and seasonal demand
Deliver clear weekly and monthly reports showing cost per call, call volume, conversion rates, and spend
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Proven track record managing Google Ads campaigns for local, trade, or emergency service businesses
Demonstrated ability to generate quality inbound calls at low cost — bring your numbers
Deep expertise in pay-per-click (PPC), call-only ads, call extensions, and call tracking setup
Strong command of Google Analytics for performance analysis and conversion attribution
Solid understanding of SEO principles and how organic and paid search work together
Experience with geo-targeting and local search strategies
Google Ads certification (Search and/or Performance Max) preferred
Familiarity with Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads) is a plus
Ability to produce concise performance reports in Excel, Google Sheets, or equivalent
A degree in digital marketing, marketing, or a related field is a plus — but results matter more
