Responsibilities and particular assignments
General responsibilities
o Responsible for the overall case management of IPD SAM cases in TFU.
o Doing the food demonstration on regular basis.
o Admission of eligible children in inpatient treatment of server acute malnutrition
o Checking the appetite of children for the ready to use therapeutic food
o Daily follow up of children in weight gaining and complication in inpatient
o Regular follow up of sever acute malnourished children in inpatient
o Preparing the F100 and F75 milks and feeding of the children regularly
o Transferring children from stabilization phase to transitional and rehabilitation phases according to criteria and health conditions
o Provides direct nursing care to patients including dressing, Catheterization, vital signs, and medications in therapeutic food unit
o Ensure comprehensive health checks and treatment according to the protocols to nutrition cases detected
o Involvement of mother in the care
o Improvement of health maternal nutrition education through the counseling and education sessions.
o Psychosocial support of mother or caregivers for supporting them breastfeeding and care giving.
o Implementation of alternative therapeutic milks when shortages and stock out happen
o Assessment of children anthropometry on regular basis on both inpatients and out patients
o Filling the TSS, MSS, treatment sheets while feeding and checking the health condition of malnourished children
o In coordination with the medical doctors, Pediatrics and Medical Unit, ensure adequate availability of all food supplies in hospital.
o Work closely with the medical doctors and pediatrics in the planning and organizing TFU, OPD SAM/SFP services in hospital
o Preparing the monthly report of IPD SAM.
o Updating the internal stock cards
o Provide service as night duty nurse
o Arrangement of health education sessions and counselling for each caregiver
o Report on progress and any problems in a timely manner-
o Any other duties that may be assigned by line supervisors for the quality of the activities
Accountability
Activities/main duties:
ð In coordination with MEAL team, ensure that feedback channels are available and accessible to project’s participants
ð Coordinate timely, complete and accurate response to complaints as per Program Manager instruction
ð Contribute to technical and programmatic solutions, and to integration of feedback into programming (adaptive management)
ð Actively participate in Monthly Accountability Meetings
ð Adhere to PU-AMI organizational policies (incl. CoC, Child protection policy, anti-fraud and anti-corruption policy, PSEA policy) and report any policy violations, suspicions, or allegations through the whistle-blower mechanism
