Teach For Afghanistan (TAO) is Afghanistan’s largest youth-led education movement working to end educational inequality and rebuild the nation through collective leadership.
Our vision is a nation transformed through education, where every child has the opportunity, dignity, and support to realize their highest potential. Our mission is to recruit and develop talented Afghan graduates through a two-year teaching fellowship, empowering them to become lifelong leaders driving systemic change.
TAO is fully registered with the Ministry of Economy and operates through annual MoUs with the Ministry of Education, ensuring strong compliance and accountability.
Since joining the global Teach For All network in 2017, TAO has expanded to four provinces (Kabul, Parwan, Nangarhar, and Laghman), supporting over 200 schools and impacting thousands of students. Provincial teams are largely led by TAO alumni, reflecting our long-term leadership pipeline model.
