1. Background
The FCDO-IPS project is designed to improve the safety, well-being, and development of children and
adolescents in Herat, Badghis, and Farah provinces. It emphasises access to protection services, communitybased
child protection structures, and empowering vulnerable groups. As part of this initiative, WASSA
collaborates with WCUK/FCDO to implement activities centred on child protection, gender equality,
disability inclusion, and community resilience.
The Provincial Supervisor will oversee the project’s implementation in Farah Province, ensuring effective
coordination with stakeholders, adherence to project plans, and timely delivery of results.
2. Scope of Work
The Provincial Supervisor is accountable for managing, coordinating, supervising and monitoring project
activities within the assigned province (Farah). This also includes ensuring alignment with project goals,
adherence to organisational policies, and strong collaboration with local stakeholders.
3. Key Responsibilities
1. Supervise and oversee all project-related activities within the assigned province, ensuring they remain
in line with established work plans and objectives.
2. Ensure appropriate and timely provision of services, including case management, cash for protection,
PSS and community engagement.
3. Conduct and facilitate capacity-building sessions on child protection, case management, gender, and
inclusion for community members.
4. Assist in setting up and strengthening inclusive protection centres.
5. Take full responsibility for the administration of the provincial office and act as the project’s
representative.
6. Handle both staff supervision and financial oversight of the project at the provincial level.
7. Prepare a well-structured provincial implementation plan and ensure all planned targets are achieved
on schedule.
8. Ensure smooth continuation of operations and that key milestones are reached as outlined in work
plans.
9. Collaborate closely with the regional project manager, programme team, and stakeholders to
successfully deliver project goals.
10. Build, sustain, and enhance professional relationships with Government counterparts, INGO/NGOs,
and UN agencies active in the region.
11. Promote and improve coordination among organisations working in the area of social cohesion.
12. Develop and submit daily, weekly, and other necessary reports as required.
13. Monitor and guide the activities of provincial support staff.
14. Maintain effective connections with communities, local Shuras, and relevant local authorities.
15. Plan and facilitate coordination meetings with stakeholders at the provincial level.
16. Provide support in carrying out project interventions across the province.
17. Arrange and deliver training programs aimed at strengthening staff capacities.
18. Ensure that procurement, administrative, and financial processes are carried out in accordance with
the approved budget.
19. Maintain proper programme records and track progress by documenting lessons learned and
successful practices.
20. Represent the organisation at relevant meetings, workshops, and national-level forums.
21. Follow the organisation’s code of conduct in both professional and personal contexts and report any
misconduct to concerned authorities.
22. Ensure optimal and responsible use of organisational resources to reduce costs and maintain a safe
working environment.
23. Provide leadership to the team, manage and motivate members, ensuring clarity of objectives and
regular performance feedback.
24. Carry out any additional tasks assigned periodically by the line manager.
